Welcome to the Jedi Joy Rich Show
JediRich.Com's Daily News section is our opinion on published articles. But once in awhile, we break a story.
|
The Naked Jedi Show blog is a behind the scenes (BTS) look at Jedi life, reviews of products, cannabis, and videos.
|
This is where Jedi Joy expresses her opinion mostly talking about art, cannabis or sex related topics.
|
The Art in Progress section is where we post our test projects. It's mostly a collection of random acts of photography, music and video.

How Joy & Rich became Jedi Joy & Jedi Rich

Rich Lightowler and Joy Kirkpatrick met in Portland Oregon in 2009. They moved to Panama (the country) and got married in Las Vegas in 2014. Joy & Rich tried to leave Las Vegas after the October 1st, 2017 Mandalay Bay Massacre. If you recall, that was when 700 people were shot at an outdoor concert. This tragic event occurred right outside Rich & Joy's bedroom window.
A few weeks after the 2017 shooting, Joy and Rich captured more than 50 UFOs landing at the site of the shooting on November 18th 2017, That was enough to inspire the two of them pack up their car and leave Las Vegas. They drove their car off-road into the hills until their oil pan broke. Then the car was stolen. The two of them found a small, tiny cave in the hills. The cave was located on Davidson Mountain which was just outside the Clark County Line. The two of them shared a tent and lived there for over 3 months. They stayed in the cave and learned to live without electricity. They had to walk a mile each way for water. It was an even further walk for food. This training got Rich to 'let go' of his greed. He learned to live minimally. He learned what was actually necessary for survival. Joy was USAF who was already trained in survival school and raised by two military parents; she knew how to survive minimally as a basic instinct. But living together in a cave brought them closer as a couple. They learned about food. They gained the knowledge of how to lose weight without gyms, overcome addictions. kick bulimia. They cut their own hair and cooked their own food. They learned they were Jedi- and that’s when they became the #JediJoyJediRichShow.

It's not easy 'unlearning'
|
Jedi Rich grew up like most people. His parents told him to be the best in school, get A's not B's. They taught him to get the best job and make the most money. He learned to buy low and sell high. He changed jobs to make more money. He relocated. He moved. He bought real estate. He shopped for the best deals everywhere. He learned to negotiate lower prices with everything. He was told to save (hoard) as much money, gold or assets as possible. His friends were the same. In fact, that is how most people who have money spend their days; they spend their days thinking about how to keep the money they have and how to make more money.

His parent's training was not uncommon. His parents grew up in the 1980s. For those who do not remember, the 1980's was when the love and peace from the 1960's was traded for greed and gold which led to the excesses of 1990s. We felt good when we made money. We stopped drinking. We started saying "no" instead of "yes." Biologically speaking, by making a bunch of money, our pleasure centers released endorphins so we felt a sense of bliss. The blissful feeling was simply a result of endorphins that are released when we please our teachers. parents or bosses. It's operant conditioning. Similar to the wat a dog wishes to please his master, even if his master beats the dog daily. But it can also be recreated when we eat something loaded with sugar like a milkshake or macaroni & cheese. Sugar makes us feel bliss, hence then name of those types of foods is 'comfort food.'
Use the Force to unlearn 'greed' & 'selfishness',
To unlearn greed, Jedi Rich took lessons from his mentor and friend, Yoda. Yoda taught Jedi Rich to unlearn his selfish, greedy behaviors. which led him to addictions and other uncontrollable conditions also known as The Dark Side. For those who do not have as personal relationship with Yod's, then, well, you should know that Yoda is a character in a movie. Just ask yourself, "what would Yoda say in this situation?".
Jedi Joy helped Jedi Rich realize what was essential for survival. Jedi Rich took busses instead of cars. He walked everywhere wearing flip-flops, carrying only his nunchucks and his cameras for nearly two years. They built a recording a studio where they played covers of some of their favorite artists. They eventually created the Las Vegas Raiders Anthem which received over 800,000 views on a single Twitter tweet.

The Song that shut down the World
The Las Vegas Raiders Anthem was released on March 4th 2020 in preparation for the Las Vegas Raider's inaugural season. The video received over 800,000 views in a SINGLE TWEET on Twitter. Jedi Rich and Jedi Joy were featured on Barstool.com here. And then, the world shutdown for nearly 2 years.
Jedi Joy and Jedi Rich lived in Las Vegas before the shutdown. The shutdown meant there would be no more tourists for 2020 (or 2021). As soon as the airports reopened, Jedi Joy and Jedi Rich left Las Vegas and moved to Panama City in October 2020. PC was more shut down than Vegas. They returned to Las Vegas in January 2021.
There was no business in Las Vegas so Jedi Joy decided to so something. She told Jedi Rich "Let's move to New York City. On April 1st, 2021 Jedi Joy and Jedi Rich took a one way plane ride to New York City. First class was actually cheaper than coach because no-one was traveling.
Jedi Joy’s mother is from Long Island and she always wanted to show Joy where her family was from. But as a house cleaner, Joy’s single mom could not afford to take a trip to the East Coast from California. When Joy was 20 years old, Joy’s mom died from a single gun shot wound to the heart before she could ever take Joy to New York City. Joy was told it was a suicide and felt abandoned. However, Joy learned, 16 years later, that her mother might not have committed suicide, but might have been murdered. Strangely, that that made her feel better learning she was not abandoned. |

A year in Manhattan taught Joy and Rich a lot. Rich was able to return to where his adult life began and was suddenly disrupted. Through a series of events, Jedi Rich unlearned how be greedy and start to being more like a real person, with human feelings again. Joy continues to trek along discovering herself more each day.

As we approach Summer 2022, The Jedi Joy Rich Show is in it's 5th year. Tourism is beginning to open up again. Hopefully, business will remain steady enough for Joy and Rich to begin the next part of their life journey together. Who would have thought 10 years ago, Joy and Rich went out together for their very first time. The two Jedi have come a long way since their first date that was orchestrated by Tony McQuade in 2012. Tony didn't realize they were Jedi at the time, but 2 years after this photo was taken, Joy and Rich were married.
Jedi Rich & Jedi Joy confront difficult situations and they document their experiences. They never avoid or run from a confrontation.
We care a lot about the gamblers and the pushers and the geeks.
We care a lot about the crack and smack and WHACK that hits the streets.

We left our cute little weekly rental in Las Vegas October 2020. We packed up the studio and took the show on the road.
