Some of us wake up Some of us just roll over No modern nation has ever been engaged in warfare for a true 30 years. The closest was the old USSR. They were fighting the Afghanistan in the 1970s-80s (and the US via the Taliban and Osama Bum Ladin) for nearly 20 years but that put them out of business because everyone knows that 30 years is an entire generation. That’s too long - you create an enemy exponentially greater than before with each generation born; they are literally born to kill you (The Art of War, Sun Tzu).
There is a point in warfare in which you cannot return (Sun Tzu, 500 BCE). We’ve past the tipping my point: that’s why we are at 8 wars going towards the 9th (and final) war at record speed.
