Last year at this time, the Stadium workers were not on a 24 hour a day schedule so they could get home before the Sun came up. Because they are behind schedule, the workers are risking their lives in deadly hot temperatures. Las Vegas is high desert climate. We are at an altitude of 2000 feet. That means when it’s 103°F it is actually much more intense that that. It’s like when you’re in the mountains. Or when you are drinking alcohol at altitude. You get drunk faster. The workers work at 400 feet in the air: So when it’s 103°F at 2000 feet, it is exponentially hotter at 2400 feet.
This is akin the City Center. They made workers switch to a 24 hour schedule. Twenty-three workers died in six months. If someone doesn’t protect these workers, then workers will die.
