SOLD! Bellagio Las Vegas Luxury Resort and Casino Sold To Blackstone Group From New York
Unconfirmed and unannounced but Bellagio (NASDAQ:MGM) has been SOLD to Blackstone Group (NYSE:BX) out of New York (Source: Scott Roeben @VitalVegas).
Call it the “Curse of Steve Wynn”, but ever since Steve Wynn sold all $2 Billion shares in May 2018, Las Vegas has seen a slew of unfinished projects, casino foreclosures and mega-resorts for sold. The Drew, The Fountain Bleu, The Resort World, Boyd's, The Eschelon (NASDAQ:BOYD) were all started over a decade ago with no completion date in sight for this decade. Rio sold last week and Caesar's sold their gaming portion of their business to El Dorado (NASDAQ: ERI) in cash stock swap.
The next properties to sell in Las Vegas, in no particular order, are The MGM Grand, The Mirage (another Steve Wynn properties bought by MGM), Planet Hollywood, The Cromwell, The Cosmopolitan and there are even rumors of Aria being up for sale. (Source: Scott Roeben @VitalVegas)
Beginning to hear the first talks of being over extended due to the purchase and renovations at the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
You’re FIRED! Alex Cordova CAIGHT Embezzling Millions from Top Vegas DJs
Skrillex, Marshmellow just to name a few. The Palms picked Alex Cordova from Wynn Nigjtlife to run their new club, Kaos. Apparently, that was a $60 million scam. (Source: Scott Roeben at Vital Vegas).
Alex Cordova was fired and escorted off property early last week. More details as they arrive.
Does Las Vegas, Nevada Have Any Art or Culture?
JediJoy and I took a walk downtown Las Vegas on a Friday afternoon. Pictures speak louder than words; however, security informed us that taking photos may result in us getting sued by The D or the Golden Gate Hotel for "copyright infringement". The security guard couldn't remember the phrase.
Why Would The D Hotel in Las Vegas Sue Tourists for Taking Photos?
Unfortunately. the casino moguls in Las Vegas have become too greedy. They will actually sue a paying guest for taking a photo with their building in the photo.
I asked a senior executive a a major hotel and casino in Las Vegas why not use social media for marketing purposes. For example, "Hey, here's me on Fremont Street!" captioned with a photo of The D Hotel or The Golden Gate Hotel & Casino in the background. You could only hope the person gets a million subscribers, views or followers based on that photo or video.
Because when thousand people see a photo with your hotel, one person will think "That's where I want to stay next". Human psyche. Marketing 101. It's the power of tens. One one percent of one percent will always buy whatever you are selling. Further example: Send one thousand people a tweet. 100 will click on it; 10 will "heart" it or engage with it and at least one person will subscribe or buy or whatever. Try it.
But when an invdual tweets a photo saying "look what I bought", the buying percentages are substation ally higher. Even in Biblical times, they knew the best salesperson is an actual customer through word of mouth testimonials.
But, if you are afraid that your "salespeople" will say soming bad about your business, perhaps consider changing is bad about your business rather than attempting to silence their voice. Its like pressure cooker; the more you suppress, when it explodes its gonna be huge.
Anyway's, the executive vice-president said the reason we don't allow photos of our b building is "because we don't want some local yo-yo or outside photographer gaining followers or subscribers using our architecture. They have to pay us if they want to use a photo of our building."
Because we don't want some local yo-yo or outside photographer gaining followers or subscribers using our architecture. They have to pay us if they want to use a photo of our building."
Derek & Greg Stevens own The D, The Golden Gate and the new Circa. Perhaps they should consider using social media to promote their brand rather than making every guest who walks through Dowtown Fremont feel like they are in 1930s Germany, complete with illiterate security guards.
Knowing the Position of the Sun and the Moon Can Alleviate Mood Swings
Are you feeling down? I found by living (and loving) in the desert, that when you watch the sun rise, the sun set, the moon rise or the moon set; I feel better.
The position of the Moon and Sun affects how we feel. It’s important to notice when subtle changes occur. Such as today. The Moon rose at 6:17am and the Sun rose shortly there-after at 6:33am. It was impossible to see for two reasons; 1) the Moon was in its Waning Crescent phase and only 2% visible and 2) it was daylight.
2019 MAXIM Covergirl Contest: Jedi Joy Advances to the TOP 10, Currently in 4th - KEEP VOTING!

The Sheldon Adelson Counter-Sues The Las Vegas Sun for Contract Breach
The Las Vegas Sun filed a federal lawsuit against Sheldon Adelson and the ownership group of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, alleging Adelson is trying to stop the Sun from publishing in an effort to silence an alternative voice in Las Vegas.
The Review-Journal is owned by a limited liability corporation controlled by the family of Sheldon Adelson, CEO and president of the Las Vegas Sands Corp. The company, News+Media Group, took ownership of the Review-Journal and associated niche publications and weeklies in December 2015.
In 2016, Rick Velotta (from the Review-Journal) wrote that Sheldon’s son-in-law was announced the CFO of Sands Corp.
Sheldon has not been seen or heard since 2018. We believe Sheldon is dead and day to day operations at the Review-Journal are being run by his son-in-law, Patrick Dumont.
July 24th 2019, Rick Velotta (from the Review-Journal) wrote that Las Vegas Sands experienced their best (“BEST” was capitalized and italicized) 2nd Quarter 2019 in Las Vegas Sands history. He also wrote that Sheldon is doing fine, even though he’s missed the last three earnings call. A link to Rick’s is located here: https://www.reviewjournal.com/business/casinos-gaming/las-vegas-sands-exec-boasts-strong-second-quarter-1810256/
Let me re-repeat that; Rick wrote that Las Vegas Sand Corp. has seen it’s BEST 2nd Quarter in Sands history. That's great news for Las Vegas Sands. That would indicate that it would be a good time to invest in Las Vegas stocks.
However, Wynn, Caesars, MGM Grand, The Cromwell, The Cosmopolitan, Bellagio, The Mirage, and Planet Hollywood are all for sale. Yes, Wynn is going to be purchased by the Genting Group from Asia. The Genting Group bought the Eschelon from Boyd and now it is going to be Resort World.
If Las Vegas Sands Corp. experienced their BEST 2nd Quarter in Vegas history, then why did
Patrick Dumont is Sheldon's son-in-law. He is also the Chief Financial Officer at the Las Vegas Sands Corp. Since Sheldon has missed all the earnings calls for 2019, Patrick Dumont may be stepping in his place. Sheldon was diagnosed with cancer and went into the hospital in December of 2018.
Can we expect an honest opinion from the Review-Journal?
Rick Velotta is responsible to report the truth to the investors. However, Rick is in a conflict. His paycheck comes from the Las Vegas Sands Corp, but he works for the Review-Journal.
"Spinning" reporting of numbers by the Review-Journal may be a reason why there are several mega-casino projects that are stunted around Las Vegas; the Drew (was Fountain Blue started in 2006 sold), The Resort World (started by Boyd Gaming 2008, sold to Genting Group) and several others.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal is Owned by Sheldon Adelson's Family and Controlled by his Son-in-Law, Patrick Dumont

Is Gaming Done in Las Vegas? Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino SOLD!
Rio All-Suites Hotel in Las Vegas SOLD to a New York Real Estate Group, not a gaming company.
Las Vegas, NV - Purchase price was $516 million. The purchaser was Imperial Companies, a New York real estate group.
This is a significant event for many reasons. Earlier this year, Caesars Entertainment sold their gaming business to El Dorado while maintaining their real estate. This sale signifies that Caesars Ent is going to begin liquidating their other casinos. And in 2018, Steve Wynn sold all of his shares - $2 Billion - 6 months before the bottom of the gaming market fell out. He "saved" or "made" $500 million by cashing our of Vegas. So why are investors still buying? Who knows. Its real estate but gaming is drying up.
The sale of the Rio was not a surprise if you live in Las Vegas. In 2015, Caesars Entertainment filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. I would expect their other properties to sell next, Planet Hollywood and Cromwell.
Let's recap what has happened in Las Vegas:
2015 Caesars Files for Bankruptcy
2016 Hockey Team Announced, new Arena and Parking Fees Added
2017 Oct 1
2018 NFL moves to Vegas , but they put the Stadium by Mandalay Bay, far away from Sheldon Adelson and Steve Wynn's properties. Sheldon backs out.
2018 Steve Wynn sells all of his shares in Wynn. Sheldon is in the hospital and no one has seen him since.
2019 Caesars sells gaming business to El Dorado.
2019 Caesars sells Rio All-Suite Hotel to a New York real estate Group
According to Scott Roeben at www.VitalVegas.com, the Mirage, the Cosmo, Bellagio and MGM, PH and Cromwell are next.
So whats next for gaming in Vegas? It's an era change. We will probably become a Space Port, like Mos Eisley.
Lil Wayne a “No-Show” - Again - This Time in Las Vegas
Are you familiar with the phrase, “You will never work in this town AGAIN!”
No? Then just ask Ariana Grande or anyone else who’s even cancelled last minute or even “no-showed” their concert in Sin City.
The problem with this generation of performers is that they are only doing it for money. In the past, Rock Stars were motivated by Sex and Drugs ( and the Rock & Roll). When the PMRC ( Google it) started making black artists censor their words, Ice-T responded with his infamous band Body Count where his hit song was “ Cop Killer” and this anti-PMRC song explaining that the Unites States Constitution is not to be overstepped by morality laws.
When you let Disney or AT&T manage your rock stars, then you are letting religious zealots force their anti-sex and anti-party morals on entertainers.
Today, the stars at the top are not entertaining because they are motivated doing it for the money. Who wants to see that? We see that everyday. We wanted someone to inspire us.

Alienstock Receives a "Cease & Desist" from Storm Area 51 Founder Matty Roberts
Las Vegas, NV: Storm Area 51 was to be a concert in Rachel, NV, the same weekend at the Las Vegas Life is Beautiful Festival. Matty Roberts is the Gen Z'er who created Storm Area 51. Last minute, Robets decided to pull out of "Alienstock". He changed his event to an Alien themed DJ party at the Events Center in Downtown Las Vegas.
Last week, Matty Roberts retained Mcallister Law Group in Las Vegas and sent a scathing cease and desist letter to Connie West. Connie West is the owner of the Alie-Inn Motel and was going to host the event on her property.
As of today, Connie West is still moving forward with Alienstock.
Temperatures in Las Vegas Dropped Significantly
As noted last week, temperatures in Las Vegas have seen a significant drop in the past 7 days. It is no longer too hot to touch your car and start pulling out your jeans, long sleeves and sweaters,

UNBELIEVABLE! Long Shot Jedi Joy Lightowler is currently in 4th Place Trending on the Front Page of the MAXIM Cover Girl Contest
Jedi Joy Lightowler is a shy person. She is not one to go out of her way to say "Notice Me". But when someone tweeted the entry form for the Maxim Covergirl contest. she took some selfies and sent them in.
JediJoy was surprised that she was even accepted and even more surprised when she made it to the second round using only her iPhone X selfie camera.
But when she went to the front page of the Maxim Cover girl contest, she blew her own mind when she saw that she was trending in 4th place. She is surrounded by professional models and neck and neck with the host from the network TV series Face Off.
Congrats Jedi Joy! All of us here are cheering for the small town girl to make it to the 3rd Round!

Patrons in Vegas are Being Charged a Venue Fee
The 6th Annual Rise Up Gala was held on September 6th, 2019 in Las Vegas. The Rise Up Gala was founded by Imagine Dragons. Imagine Dragons started the Tyler Robinson Foundation in 2013 after Tyler Robinson (who was a child fan of Imagine Dragons) died of cancer.
The event was held at the Wynn. The goal tonight was to raise $2.5 million
The Grand is located downtown right by Fremont Street, actually one block from Fremont Street. This is what used to be the Lady Luck Casino from 1964-2006. They opened with two towers in 2013. They will be adding a third to be completed in mid 2020.
The new tower will be seven stories, with an additional 495 rooms. This will mean that The Grand will have 1,100 rooms now. Which is very large for Downtown Las Vegas. The resorts Downtown have always been historically much smaller than the resorts on the Strip. Now with these new projects, Downtown is giving the Strip a run for their money.
The Grand is extra special to me and JediRich. When we first got to Las Vegas, we stayed at The D for a couple weeks. We loved it. So we decided to move Downtown. We ended up staying at a Siegel Suites walking distance from Fremont Street. We did not have a lot of money, we had just arrived in Vegas in November 2013.
We would go to The Grand and get free hot chocolate from the cocktail waitresses and play with about $10 and try to make it stretch. The Grand had just opened. We loved it. We even watched Super Bowl 2014 at the Commissary, which is the cafe connected to The Grand.
I applied for a job as a cocktail waitress at the pool. They wanted to hire me, but I had changed my mind about being a cocktail waitress by the time they got back to me. We love The Grand. I am so happy to see it thrive!!
Circa Resort and Casino
The Circa will be a new casino opening in Downtown Las Vegas in December 2020. Circa is located where the Las Vegas Club Casino used to be on the end of Fremont street near The Plaza.
This is the first new casino project for Downtown Las Vegas in over 40 years. This new casino will tower over the other casinos on Fremont Street. The casino will have 44 stories. They will have 777 guest rooms, five restaurants and a two story casino. They are also going to have what they claim is the Largest Sports book in Las Vegas.
We are excited to see this when it’s complete. We took photos of The Las Vegas Club when they were demolishing it. It will be awesome to see this casino when it is all done. Derrick & Greg Stevens own The D and are also the owners of this new casino, Circa.
When JediRich and I first moved to Las Vegas, we stayed at The D for two weeks. We really enjoyed our time there. The cool thing about The D is that they keep that sexual vibe. They have sexy girls that still dance on the bars. That is unfortunately becoming less of a common scene in Vegas. A lot of the casinos have gone for a more family friendly vibe.
I love going Downtown to get back to the roots of Las Vegas. It will be fun to see the old with a blend of the new. Circa will bring back Vegas Vickie. She was the neon Cowgirl sign at the end of Fremont that everyone liked. They will have her in the resort’s lobby. That will be nice to see her again. They took her down during the demolition of The Las Vegas Club.
The new resort is also making Uber, RideShare friendly areas. Most of the casinos were built before RideShare existed. Often they put the Uber pickups in small cramped spots or way in the back of the parking garages where you have to walk about a mile to get to.
This resort can plan ahead a time a route got the RideShare drivers and riders safety and comfort. We ride in a ton of Uber’s, so this is super important. I will be excited to see how they set up the pickups and drop offs. There are a couple of new projects in Downtown. The Grand is also expanding and adding a new tower. Downtown Las Vegas is thriving and looking forward to the future.
