You’re depressed. So you distract yourself from that fact everyday with various morning rituals; coffee, exercise, sex, no sex, making money, not making money or just not waking up. Anything to distract you. Eventually, your distractions will stop working. When that happens, then you will have to acknowledge that you’re depressed. If that scares you, send us a DM. We’ve been through this. Some people mask their depression with drugs. Others use self help groups, therapy or AA. While others simply drink coffee. Remember: CAFFEINE IS A DRUG and a drug is a drug. An addictive drug. Just like alcohol. Overtime, all drugs have severe side effects, even aspirin. If you take caffeine every day for years, you are no different than the addict who masks their depression by drinking alcohol first thing in the morning or the junkie who can’t function unless they have their drugs. If you’re drinking coffee every morning, then you need to stop immediately. You’ve admitted you’re depressed, now you are waking up to find that you are heavily addicted to caffeine. Remember, caffeine is a drug. There are various ways to get through the caffeine withdrawals. We’ve tried them all. But whatever you do, do not drink caffeine. Eventually you will need to quit sugar and dairy too, they are all connected, I will explain how later. But first, quit caffeine for 30 days, one day at a time. You will feel better immediately but you will have bouts of severe withdrawals. Don’t despair, they will go away. Sometime quickly, sometimes slowly, but eventually the caffeine withdrawals will cease. It’s a little scary at first because after years and years of being addicted to caffeine, when you stop, the whole world will look totally different.
