MYTH: A vegan diet is healthy.
FACT: A vegan diet is a high sugar diet.
Vegans want you to believe that eating a high sugar diet will make you lose weight. This is biologically impossible. The body requires animal protein to be lean. Vegetation was an alternative source of fuel when animal meat was scarce. When the brain senses more vegetation than animal protein, the brain changes the body’s metabolism.
When animal meat is scarce, there is risk of starvation. The brain tells the body to store excess food as fat. When protein levels are high, the brain tells the body to convert fat to energy. When you eat carbohydrates (fruits & vegetables) the body only has energy when you eat more carbohydrates. Unfortunately, the excess sugar (carbohydrates) begin to add up to fat, lethargy and depression.
If being fit is not incentive enough to quit eating sugar, then the World Health Organization, American Medical Association and the American Heart Association has said eating more than 25 g of excess sugar per day will cause cancer, heart disease, liver disease, obesity and tooth decay (to name a few).
