Police had to spend New Year’s day evicting about 40 homeless people who had rented rooms at the Econolodge on Christmas Eve. The homeless people paid for one night and then stopped paying.
Many of these homeless people are sick. Many have chronic illnesses such as cancer. They cannot stay in a shelter because they do not qualify most likely due to substance abuse restrictions.
Shelters deny food and housing to people on drugs
If the shelters aren’t helping people who test positive for drugs, who checking into the shelters?
