Circa Resort and Casino
The Circa will be a new casino opening in Downtown Las Vegas in December 2020. Circa is located where the Las Vegas Club Casino used to be on the end of Fremont street near The Plaza.
This is the first new casino project for Downtown Las Vegas in over 40 years. This new casino will tower over the other casinos on Fremont Street. The casino will have 44 stories. They will have 777 guest rooms, five restaurants and a two story casino. They are also going to have what they claim is the Largest Sports book in Las Vegas.
We are excited to see this when it’s complete. We took photos of The Las Vegas Club when they were demolishing it. It will be awesome to see this casino when it is all done. Derrick & Greg Stevens own The D and are also the owners of this new casino, Circa.
When JediRich and I first moved to Las Vegas, we stayed at The D for two weeks. We really enjoyed our time there. The cool thing about The D is that they keep that sexual vibe. They have sexy girls that still dance on the bars. That is unfortunately becoming less of a common scene in Vegas. A lot of the casinos have gone for a more family friendly vibe.
I love going Downtown to get back to the roots of Las Vegas. It will be fun to see the old with a blend of the new. Circa will bring back Vegas Vickie. She was the neon Cowgirl sign at the end of Fremont that everyone liked. They will have her in the resort’s lobby. That will be nice to see her again. They took her down during the demolition of The Las Vegas Club.
The new resort is also making Uber, RideShare friendly areas. Most of the casinos were built before RideShare existed. Often they put the Uber pickups in small cramped spots or way in the back of the parking garages where you have to walk about a mile to get to.
This resort can plan ahead a time a route got the RideShare drivers and riders safety and comfort. We ride in a ton of Uber’s, so this is super important. I will be excited to see how they set up the pickups and drop offs. There are a couple of new projects in Downtown. The Grand is also expanding and adding a new tower. Downtown Las Vegas is thriving and looking forward to the future.
