Paramount Plus has a show called Big Brother on CBS that airs 3 nights a week at 8pm. That's a lot of prime time. A moderator on CBS ViacomCBS suspended the Jedi from commenting on live feeds because they said we violated their rules when we wrote that obesity causes cancer. The show is on prime time TV.
Health should be the priority for any primetime television show in 2021. CBS has contestants who are visibly obese competing in physical competitions. It's comical, but not really.
This is not surprising that they have obese contestants. 73% of Americans are obese or overweight and that was before the pandemic forced everyone to avoid the gyms. The military did not meet their recruitment numbers for the first time because the 18 years olds were too fat. They had to change the BMI requirement to make their numbers. Anyways, I digress.
Since 1970, obesity rates have nearly tripled. Between 1960 and 1970 obesity rates stopped increasing. when GMOs were introduced in the 1985, the obesity rates began to skyrocket. Today, people are eating impossible burgers for dinner. An impossible burger is a soy burger with sugar. We are feeding our children and adults food that causes cancer. Even more alarming, the prevalence of overweight and obesity in children and adolescents is on the rise, and youth are becoming overweight and obese at earlier ages. One out of six children and adolescents ages 2 to 19 are obese and one out of three are overweight or obese. (3) Early obesity not only increases the likelihood of adult obesity, (4) it also increases the risk of heart disease in adulthood, (5) as well as the prevalence of weight-related risk factors for cardiovascular disease such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and high blood sugar. (6–9). Additionally, recent studies have shown supporting evidence to suggest that the cause of cancer consuming too much sugar, drinking caffeine, obesity, and insulin resistance which are all related.
The United States has declared obesity a health epidemic every decade since 1990. Obesity rates were essentially stagnant at 15% between 1960 and 1980. People were doing drugs and having sex. Then, the Reagan era of "Just Say No" campaign began. They ramped up the "War on Drugs". As kids began to say "no" instead of "yes" to drugs, they became depressed. So, kids started saying "yes" to sugar. As a result, by 2018, 35% of children are overweight or obese. And that was before the global pandemic forced everyone to stay home for a year. The number is problably even higher today.
The more the government and doctors tell you to eat the four food groups, the more obese people have become.
