The Downtown Grand Adds a 495-RoomThird Tower

The Grand is located downtown right by Fremont Street, actually one block from Fremont Street. This is what used to be the Lady Luck Casino from 1964-2006. They opened with two towers in 2013. They will be adding a third to be completed in mid 2020.

The new tower will be seven stories, with an additional 495 rooms. This will mean that The Grand will have 1,100 rooms now. Which is very large for Downtown Las Vegas. The resorts Downtown have always been historically much smaller than the resorts on the Strip. Now with these new projects, Downtown is giving the Strip a run for their money.

The Grand is extra special to me and JediRich. When we first got to Las Vegas, we stayed at The D for a couple weeks. We loved it. So we decided to move Downtown. We ended up staying at a Siegel Suites walking distance from Fremont Street. We did not have a lot of money, we had just arrived in Vegas in November 2013.

We would go to The Grand and get free hot chocolate from the cocktail waitresses and play with about $10 and try to make it stretch. The Grand had just opened. We loved it. We even watched Super Bowl 2014 at the Commissary, which is the cafe connected to The Grand.

I applied for a job as a cocktail waitress at the pool. They wanted to hire me, but I had changed my mind about being a cocktail waitress by the time they got back to me. We love The Grand. I am so happy to see it thrive!!
