​We have been waiting for several weeks now to see these trusses go up. We kept checking, we did not want to miss it. We went down to the Raiders Stadium on Tuesday and found out it would be going up today. We did not know what time.

While we were at the stadium yesterday, we ran into Mark who is Raider1967 on YouTube. He is also documenting the stadium construction process on his YouTube channel. We enjoyed meeting you Mark. Thank you for the shout out on YouTube.

It was quite amazing to see the crew working on this project. They had several crew members that had to stand on the top of the stadium or in cranes at the top to place the structure into where it fits on the top of the stadium. I was thinking to myself that they better get “hazard pay” for that job. What an intense situation. They probably were super fired up today. I would imagine that adrenaline rush would be intense.

It took awhile for the crew to be able to lift these trusses. They needed the perfect weather. It could not be too windy, or wet or stormy. These trusses weigh so much that it needs to be a clear, non windy day for safety issues. Mortenson/McCarthy are all about safety. They have zero safety mishaps or injuries. Today was the perfect day for this. The weather was phenomenal.

The weather was a little iffy the last week. It would be warm for a minute and then cold and windy again. Today on April 3rd, it felt like Spring had sprung just in time for the Raiders stadium crew to get the trusses lifted. Thank you Universe for a beautiful and calm day.

It was a lot of fun to check out this truss being lifted. I wouldn’t have thought a couple years ago, that staring at a crane and steal would be so fun. This project is so much fun. It’s so exciting that the Raiders are coming to Las Vegas. I do feel bad that Oakland had to give them up. I know there are a lot of hurt feelings there.

It’s such an amazing experience for Nevada to get our first NFL stadium. It is unfortunate that Oakland had to lose the team. Thank you Oakland for taking care of the Raiders all these years. I hope all the fans come to Las Vegas to check out when they play here. It won’t be the same as when you all had the team at home. But, hey you will get to see your team play and you can get a Vegas Vacation out of it.

Las Vegas is getting more and more excited as the stadium gets closer to being done. You could really feel the energy growing today. There were so many people stopping to check out what was going on. It was a tiny glimpse of the energy we will see when there is a game or an event. I cannot wait until the games begin.
