Happy New Year and Happy Anniversary my JediRich! I have never been more happier that I married you on this day 5 years ago!! You are my everything!! We sure have changed for the better since January 1st, 2014.
We got married at Little Church of the West, which is the oldest building on the strip. It was created in 1942. The chapel was originally built as part of the Hotel Frontier complex on the Las Vegas Strip. The chapel was moved from the north side of the hotel to the south side in 1954. In 1979, to make way for the Fashion Show Mall the chapel was moved onto the grounds of the Hacienda hotel-casino. In 1996, when the Hacienda was closed and demolished, the chapel was moved again to its current location on the south end of the strip by Mandalay Bay. Which is even more sentimental for us.
We spent only $320 on the whole wedding. I bought my dress for $20 from Macy’s and the wedding was $200 and $100 for the Chapel photographer. Las Vegas is a fantastic place for an affordable and fun place to get married. I did not want all the drama of a huge expensive wedding that bores all our friends. We chose to only have one person in attendance. It was such a special day. I would get married the same way over and over to JediRich. We were also able to have our wedding day on January 1st, so I would never forget the date. I am horrible with dates. If we had a big wedding, I’m sure New Year’s Day would have been tough for most people to attend.
Peopel make wedding ceremonies such an elaborate and expensive thing. It is not the most important day of your life. It is only the beginning of a happy life if you marry your soulmate. We chose to keep it simple and not get in debt for one day. We have the rest of our lives to spend money on each other. Las Vegas is the way to go. $320, 15 minutes and you get to be with your soulmate for eternity...Priceless!!
