I received an email asking how I recovered from Candida Overgrowth. This is my response:
Hi Oscar, Candida is a fungus that everyone has in their body. When a person eats a high sugar diet, processed foods, caffeine, alcohol, etc, this can cause an overgrowth of the Candida. The Candida will never fully be gone, because they are necessary in our body in small numbers. In order to keep them at bay and alleviate the nagging symptoms, I cut out sugar and caffeine. I went on an all animal protein diet. I ate all organic beef. This allowed the Candida to die off. The Candida live on Sugar. In order to starve them out, you have to eliminate sugar from your diet. I eat an all Organic Beef and organic collard greens, kale and garlic diet. I eat beef burgers without a bun, or steak, or stew or any kind of beef like ribs. Once the Candida dies off, you can slowly add in other foods. I decided to stay on the all beef diet, because I like it. I feel great and it keeps me ultra lean. As far as the Caffeine, most people do not want to cut out caffeine. They believe that caffeine gives them energy or helps them lose weight. That is not the case. Caffeine actually numbs your hormones. It makes a person feel less tired and less hungry. It does not actually suppress the appetite or give energy, it numbs the senses. The problem with numbing the senses is, it numbs the insulin hormone. Insulin regulates blood sugar. When the insulin hormone is numbed due to caffeine, it stops producing as much insulin. This causes the blood sugar to rise. Then the body creates more insulin to compensate. Insulin tells the body to store fat. Caffeine is the huge culprit for weight issues, due to the constant production of insulin. Insulin tells the body to go into hibernation, relax and store fat. Caffeine affects Candida due to the blood sugar rising. When the blood sugar rises, the Candida flourish. Another thing to watch is fat intake. People have this misconception that Fat=Fat. That is not the case. A diet with healthy animal fat or organic olive oil, is extremely beneficial and will keep a person lean. Too much fat, will be an issue with Candida. Candida eat sugar, and live in the fat cells. It’s important to not overdue the fat, so that Candida do not have a place to stay. I eat 93% beef. I add a little Organic Olive oil about a teaspoon. That’s the amount of fat I eat for each meal. Frying food is way too much fat. Grilling is always a better option. Do not fear fat, but don’t bathe in basks of oil either. It is not an easy process getting over Candida Overgrowth. There are times, I felt like giving up. Stick with the animal protein diet. I feel so amazing now, after those buggers finally got back at bay. Let me know if you have any other questions!! JediJoy
