I was in the Air Force from 2002-2006. I joined when I was 17 years old. It was right after 9/11. On October 1st 2017, the day of the Las Vegas Shooting, I went to our storage unit and put back on my old uniforms. This was the first time I did that in 11 years. This was October 1st in the afternoon. That evening the tragedy occurred. These photos are from that day.
I was an Airborne Surveillance Instructor on the AWACS plane. I had a great time. I joined when I was 17 years old. My parents had to sign for me to join since I was so young. Now, as much as I respect the individuals that fight in our military, I do not respect the idea that we have been at war for over 30 years. We are currently fighting in 8 wars. Trump is about to start the 9th war. Enough is enough. Bring all our troops home. The wars need to end. Thank you all Troops for your service. Let’s now bring them all home. It’s time! We have the internet. We do not need to be fighting each other now. We know each other through social media. Countries should be at peace with one another. Racism needs to end. I lost all these uniforms in our last move. At first I was upset about that because they are sentimental. Then I realized it’s a metaphor for the Universe. We need to let go of our pasts and move forward. The wars need to end. The troops need to come back home. Over 30 years of war has caused so much widespread depression.
