Pigeons are a great example of our current society. We model a lot of things after the birds. We even call people pigeons when they tend to copy each other or follow a leader. Humans are similar to pigeons in a social sense. We often like to hang out in groups. We worry about what other people think. We follow the crowd often. We try to be monogamous, because we believe pigeons and other mammals to be monogamous.
This is where humans mess up. We are not monogamous by nature. Most mammals are not monogamous. We are not monogamous and neither are the pigeons. That is why we have so many break ups and divorces. Humans were made to have multiple partners. We are supposed to be Polyamorous, meaning multiple loves. This is why our current society is failing. We need to be open to multiple partners, within your relationships.
Pigeons mate for life. What they consider monogamous is one mate for life with multiple partners. Pigeons will mate with other pigeons, but they have their one partner for life. This is not the true definition of monogamy. Monogamy means only one partner at a time. Pigeons have their one mate, but they hook up with other partners during the time they are with their number one mate. So not even pigeons are monogamous.
Humans take monogamy so serious, pigeons sleep with more than one pigeon at a time. We should also. We should be open to loving multiple people at all times. A sexual relationship should not be confined to just two people.
JediRich and I are a Polyamorous couple. It means we hook up with other people. We believe in multiple loves. We believe sexuality should be explored for eternity. It should not be cut off once you get married or find your one partner. Be like the pigeons, have your number one, but be open to other loves of both sexes.
