#NoMakeUpChallenge

#NoMakeupChallenge. I challenge all ladies to try it for a day or more. Your face and eyes will thank you. Here are some pics of me today with no makeup on. You may feel a little bit more dull looking at first, but natural is beautiful ladies. It’s an adjustment to see yourself all natural if you have not in a while.

I am now letting my hair dry naturally. I have been dying, blow drying and straightening my hair since I was in middle school. My hair was so thick and healthy when I was young. Over the years, I have fried it with dye and heat styling. I was tired of my hair being so flat, broken and unhealthy. So I decided several months ago to stop blow drying it. I now do some sort of half up do and let it dry naturally. It’s another adjustment because I have frizzy hair, but I’m embracing it. We are told perfect is beautiful, but what is perfect and perfect is boring. Be yourself!! That’s what’s beautiful!!

I just turned 34 years old. A lot of people put a lot of emphasis on age. I embrace every age that I am. I tend to try to keep my look natural. No fake stuff and not a lot of makeup. I came to realize that every age is just as important and an awesome experience as any age. It’s all perspective. You can feel 20 at any age. The younger you feel, the younger you will look. That’s a definite. Being happy and having fun shows on your appearance. Stay young!!

I am one of those tomboy kind of girls. I wear very little makeup. I wear zero face makeup like a powder or a foundation. The only makeup I wear is eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara. When I am not working I like to wear no makeup. A lot of girls are trained that they only look pretty with tons of makeup or fake boobs, fake hair, fake butts, fake eyelashes, fake everything. Keep it simple and natural. That’s the way the Universe made you!

Here’s some fresh pics of me with no makeup. I thought I would post these to inspire other woman to feel comfortable in their own skin. When I was younger I struggled with acne. I always had to wear coverup on my face. What happens is this is a viscous cycle of bad skin. Your face never gets the chance to heal because you are always clogging your pores with more makeup. You have to give your skin a break from makeup in order to heal.

It can be a tough month or so when you first stop using face makeups like coverup. You feel embarrassed for a bit with the red spots on your face. I used to be so bad at picking my face. If I had a zit, I had to pick it. Then I would cover up the blemish in the morning with coverup. Now I do not have the option to coverup all the time. So this keeps me from picking at my skin, which has cleared up my face tremendously.

It might feel weird when you first try little to no makeup. You may feel naked in a sense, but eventually you feel so free. What’s nice about going makeup free once in a awhile or as often as possibly, is you give your face and your eyes a chance to breath and relax. When you constantly have a ton of makeup on your eyes, it can become so heavy and actually can make you more sleepy as the day goes on. Especially fake lashes. Those are so heavy, that they tire your eyes. This adds to aging and crows feet.

I wear makeup for work, and a lot of ladies do as well. I highly recommend on those days off, or those relaxing days give your eyes and face a day off as well. You are beautiful without all the extras!
