Allegiant Stadium: 70% Complete

Allegiant Stadium Flash FloodingAllegiant Stadium in Las Vegas was rained out due to flash flooding this week.
Raiders Stadium Rainy Day

It was a rainy day in Las Vegas on Wednesday November 20, 2019. It floods super fast in Las Vegas, since it is in the Valley. Parts of the strip, can be flooded within, minutes of a huge thunderstorm.

The Linq Hotel and Casino, which used to be Imperial Palace, is the drain for the strip. All of the water from the strip, collects in the back of the Linq. This is normally where you enter the casino from. The Linq has an entrance from the back. They now have this completely closed.
Las Vegas Nevada Flash Flooding LinqFlash flooding in Las Vegas is still a problem at the Linq.
They are finally fixing this issue. The Jedi decided to go grab some photos of the rushing river at the Linq before it’s fixed for good. We were amazed by the amount of water. It is literally River De La Linq. It’s insane. We wanted to check this out before we headed to the Raiders stadium.

Seventy percent of The Raiders Stadium is complete. Most of the glass is complete. it held up great this time during the storms. They have built up what used to be the road down into the Stadium. It is almost completely filled with dirt. In the past the side walls by the road would deteriorate. Now they are solid. The rain does not affect progress much anymore.
We found out that they stopped raising the roof on November 10, 2019. Mick Akers from the Review Journal, claims this is because they only needed the roof raised a certain height to accomplish what they needed to do on the ground. Now that they have achieved that, they can start raising the roof again.
Las Vegas raiders stadiumLas Vegas Raiders will play at the new Allegiant Stadium when it is completed in August 2020.
The roof was originally set to be completed at the end of October or beginning of November. Mick Akers and Don Web assure everyone, the roof will be raised by Thanksgiving. The roof had some delays in October due to some wiring being stolen. This is an unconfirmed rumor. Don Webb did acknowledge parts had been stolen, but did not confirm which parts. We heard from an alternate source that part of the wires for the cables had been stolen.

The stolen parts caused the roof to be pushed back a couple weeks. The stadium is set to be on course for the opening in August 2020. The first event was set for August 16th now set for August 20th, 2020. It is exciting to see the progress. We are less than a year away.

The Stadium just postponed signing a $30 million water conservation contact with the water district. They were set to sign it but now they need to get This is an attempt to conserve water in Las Vegas. We are in the desert and we do have a shortage of water. Lake Mead is not at the level it used to be and we do not get a ton of rainfall. We love when we get the much needed rain!

The first round of payment due dates occurred on November 15th for the 2020 season ticket holders. There are still 1000 season tickets left. The PSL (Personal Seat Licenses) is a large portion of what is funding the stadium. The stadium is 130 million over budget. The additional funding is coming from an additional 5,000 PSLs. There is still time to get your tickets now.

Stay tuned for more updates as we watch this stadium come together. It is looking gorgeous. The stadium is clearly defined now. Almost all of the glass is on. It is quite a site to see.
