Allegiant Stadium Over Budget by $40 Million due to the Truss Issue
In July, the Stadium Officials have raised the budget to $1.9 billion for the 65,000-seat Las Vegas Stadium being built for the NFL’s relocated Raiders and UNLV football.
The extra $40 Million will result in an additional 20 seats but was not included in the the original budget.
The extra $40 Million was a result of a mistake made back in May 2019; they built at least one truss with parts upside down. The truss mounted on May 1st stalled a million dollar crane for a month and a half. They had to bring in another crane on May 15th from Barnhart. The Barnhart crane reportedly cost $1 million to deliver and $500,000 a month extra to rent.
