Roof Raising Begins TodayRumor is that they will slowly begin raising the roof today. It is a 6-week process. The original plan was to be have the roof lifted by the end of October. Now, it appears the glass panel roof won't be finished until closer to the end of November. It's a marvel of a project. Don Webb was quote's as saying "There is no room for error when lifting this glass panel roof structure." But yet, errors happen. How a leader deals with mistakes is what makes the difference.
Don Webb has done a great job of keeping this project on task amid a number of adversities. Webb has had to deal with the worst snow storm in Vegas history. Then, the crew put parts of the iron trusses on upside down in May so they could not use a $1,000,000 crane rental for 6 weeks until June 16th. Now, some jambe stole aluminum parts that were needed in raising the roof. These unfortunate events costs the Raiders and Mark Davis an additional $200 million raising the cost of the stadium from the original price tag from $1.8 billion to $2 billion.
