Roof Raising Began.. Then Stopped at Las Vegas Allegiant Stadium Future Home of the Raiders10/19/2019 Roof Raising Halted at Allegiant Stadium in Las VegasLAS VEGAS, NV : Don Webb told reporters that the roof raising began on October 7th, 2019. The Jedi have been observing the progress (or lack of progress) ever since. The cable net roof appeared to begin lifting on October 11th, when the slack in the cables tightened. But since then, it appears that the roof has not moved at all. In fact, it's entirely possible that Don Webb simply tightened the slack to give the "appearance" that the roof was lifting. A closer view of the cable net roof not showing much progress. Here’s why we don’t trust Mick Akers: The reporters at the Las Vegas Review-Journal who are responsible for covering the Allegiant Stadium, will attack anyone who suggests that there is a delay. There is being positive in your reporting and then there's been a sleazy salesman. Do you think Mick Akers understands the difference? Aug 6th: Mick wrote that the roof raising was more complicated than a Swiss watch and it was to begin in September completed by October. Sept. 30th: Jedi noticed 24/7 police patrol at each exit. Oct 2: Vital Vegas notes that the roof raising had not yet begun. Possible 80-90 delay due stolen pieces that were needed to raise the roof. Aluminum pieces need a 90 day lead time. Oct 2 : Mick Akers publicly accuses Scott Roeben of Vital Vegas of spreading fake news. Explains cops are there only for “extra security.” A twitter storm erupts over who’s paying for the extra police. Mick Akers assures the public from his law enforcement contacts that the Raiders are paying. Much doubt was cast on Mick’s response from @LasVegasLocally. Oct 4: Jedi confirm that the roof raising had not begun. Oct 8: Rick Velotta confirms that tools were stolen. When asked about the delay, Rick’s response was it was simply due to “Don Webb overestimating his abilities”. There was a a plan in August where both Rick Velotta and Mick Akers wrote that the cable net roof raising would begin in September. We are not that plan anymore. It's almost November and the roof does not appear to have begun lifting.
This is tax payer dollars. We have a right to know. The public shouldn’t have to wait for the Jedi to ask these questions on Twitter but the Jedi will do whatever is necessary when the safety of the general public is involved. We say “safety” because if Don Webb is so small that he lies about a roof raising delay, what do you think he’d say about a structural delay? Don Webb should be forthcoming with how he is handling taxpayers dollars. He shouldn’t get mad at you (the reporters) when you ask him question about simple production schedule delay. If he does, keep pressing. Mick is a bully who attempts to smear reputable bloggers’ reputation using his verified status badge for credibility. Basically, he calls people fake news when someone writes something he doesn't like. Why? What is Mick's agenda? It's not getting to the bottom of the story, like the Jedi do. Rick Velotta is an excellent journalist. He is one of the best; in 2010. But in 2019, he’s still basking in the glory of the awards he got while at the Las Vegas Sun. Since then, he’s obviously sold out. Example: He now works for his competition. Rick needs press Don Webb when Don lies to Rick. An experienced journalist would know that. In order to unravel the “Don Webb of Lies” for the Clark County taxpayers, Las Vegas needs to give credentials and access to someone like the Jedi. By taxpayers, that means Lady Gaga, Elton John, Meek Mills, Travis Scott, Rihanna, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Mariah Carey etc. Basically, anyone who visits Vegas; the Stadium is being paid for by Vegas visitors via a hotel tax. It’s not being paid for by locals via a sales tax.
