Do you remember when people did not drink coffee everyday? Slowly, but surely, caffeine has changed the way Americans start their day.
Caffeine is a drug. Caffeine is in the classified the same as methamphetamine. Caffeine & methamphetamine are both stimulants. Caffeine is a much milder than methamphetamines. However, after years of daily intake, the effects of stimulants are the same: highly addictive.
Perhaps you've noticed that caffeine is addictive. Maybe you did not like coffeea t first. B ut not you drink coffee straight black with extra shits of espresso to get the same effect. That is an addiction. Your brain has become aware that your body has a stimulant so it counters by releasing hormones. One of those hormones is called insulin. Insulin in high doses will kill you. In small doses, insulin will make you tired, sluggish, irritable, depressed and tell your body to store excess sugar as fat cells.
Excess insulin in the bloodstream causes cells in your body to absorb too much glucose (sugar) from your blood. It also causes the liver to release less glucose. These two effects together create dangerously low glucose levels in your blood. This condition is called hypoglycemia.
Your blood needs the right amount of glucose for your body to operate properly. Glucose is the body’s fuel. Without it, your body is like a car running out of gas. The severity of the situation depends on how low the blood sugar level goes.
People who have low blood sugar levels should eat 15 grams of a fast digesting carbohydrate, such as glucose tablets or a high-sugar food. High-glucose foods include: raisins, soda, fruit juice, fruits, honey, & candy.
More severe symptoms of excess insulin, sometimes referred to as diabetic shock or insulin shock, include: concentration problems, seizures, unconsciousness & death.
Caffeine Dulls The Brain's Senses
Caffeine is a helluva drug. It makes you think you're sped up but really everything in your body has slowed down so you only "feel" sped up. Worse, caffeine masks the brains ability to determine which hormones are in your bloodstream. The brain responds by releasing more hormones to counter the effects of caffeine. When the caffeine wears off, you now have more insulin in your bloodstream than before you had a cup of coffee.
So what is the problem with too much insulin in the blood stream? See above.
If you started taking caffeine to lose weight, it won't work long term. In fact, caffeine will have the opposite effect on your weight loss program. Caffeine is the assassin in your weight loss program.
